The only dæmon I’ve depicted, other than the Dæmon King, was his father, called the Phantom. While the Dæmon King carries a crown-like array of horns and frills based on the ceratopians. For the Phantom, I drew from the stygimoloch and pachycephalosaurus as well as the large sailed dinosaurs, such as amargasaurus, an amazing titanosaur with a sail that extended from the top of his head all the way to its tail. Unfortunately, amargasaurus was just too early in the fossil record to stretch into our story, but many other titans carried similar, though less spectacular, displays. And, I was able to use it on the Phantom’s fantastical head. There are still three other dæmons in the story, but for now I leave it to you do imagine what they might have looked like, whether they resemble a corythosaurus, or a long extinct dilophosaurus, or perhaps another prehistoric animal altogether.
